Updates from our hardworking Council

Sunday School News

-No Sunday School on Sunday, May 27th (memorial Day weekend). Congratulations to McKenna who will be confirmed on this day in church!

-The last day of Sunday School will be on Sunday, June 3rd.  Pastor will be away on vacation this day.

-Rally Day (First Day of Sunday School) will be on Sunday, September 16th.  The kids will start the year with a project and a parade up the “Secret Staircase” and through the church announcing the return of Sunday School.

-Sunday School Parent/Leader meeting is scheduled after church on June 24th.  Topics needed tobe discuss are:

  • Superintendent Needed – single point of contact for SS
  • Curriculum- continuation of SPARK program
  • Family Sunday monthly?
  • Full month commitment to teach?
  • Adding other members of the congregation to teach
  • Field Trip
  • Combining SS from other churches with ours eventually?
  • Feedback from parents and kids- what’s working/not working?  What do we want more of/less of?

Cluster Picnic

It will be held on August 5th.  Four churches in our cluster will be attending together.  There will be Sunday church services followed by a picnic.  Details to follow.

Our Church’sAnnual Picnic

This will be held on July 21st at 4pm at Pastor andBeverly’s house.  As the time gets closer, a sign-up sheet/volunteer list will be in church.  Details to follow.

NY Synod Assembly

This conference will be held on June 8th and 9th inRochester at theRiversideConvention Center.  One male, one female and Pastor are eligible to attend and monies are already approved and allocated from the Church Council for this event.  Participants do not need to be on the Church Council to attend.  Volunteers are needed.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor or a member of the Church Council.

PR Person

The church is in need of a PR person.  The responsibilities are to get information into the newspapers and any other delivery channels in order to distribute contact information about the church.  This person would be a primary contact person and Pastor would be secondary.  A volunteer is needed.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor or a member of the Church Council.

DonationsNeeded

In addition for contributions to pay for the lift, it was suggested that donations be made to help move the pianos as well as purchase the EL Worship books at $25.

Church History/Preservation/Archives

The Council would like to preserve the Church’s history and display and protect those items.  The Council would like to find a volunteer to be in charge of the archives.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor or a member of the Church Council.
